About Western Wildcats HC
Western Wildcats are back in the EHL following a 13 year gap having played in the second edition of the competition. It was a tough outing back then, losing 2-0 to Reading and 5-0 to Rotterdam in Lille and so they are looking to make their mark this time around.
There is a link to those EHL days, albeit with Kelburne, with Jonathan Christie and Gavin Somerville having played in the competition back in those times. The side is coached by former player Vishal Marwaha who played in that maiden EHL season, too.
Otherwise, the side has a trio of current internationals who competed in the Commonwealth Games, the experienced Callum Duke, captain Rob Harwood and goal-getter Andrew McConnell.
They helped the side win three trophies in Scotland last season as well as reaching the EuroHockey Club Trophy II where they were runners-up. McConnell netted six times in that tournament.
