About SK Slavia Prague
SK Slavia Prague will create history as the first Czech side to play in the EHL as the country was given a ticket for the competition by virtue of Russia and Belarus’s continued exclusion. Having jumped up four positions in the EHL rankings, they were the next best placed country on the list in 13th overall.
As such, the Czech champions will compete in the EHL and will hope they can make the jump up in standard. They finished in sixth place in the EuroHockey Trophy II in June which gives an idea of the challenge ahead.
The side does feature several internationals including national captain Martin Hanus as well as rising stars Jan Brzak (aged 20), Josef Toms (19) and Patrik Dubina (20) along with Martin Capouch and Marek Svaton. They face a real baptism of fire against Dutch runners-up Pinoké.
