About Surbiton HC (Women)
Surbiton are looking to negotiate their way to the FINAL4 for the first time having picked up fifth and seventh place rankings in their most recent appearances in EHL Women.
They do so with something of a new squad this season with Hannah Martin moving to Australia this season while Amy Costello went to HGC.
Goalkeeper Sabbie Heesh took a break this season from club hockey in the wake of an ACL injury while Leah Wilkinson retired to take up a role with Old Georgians’ women. Sarah Evans is also unavailable this term.
Coming in this term have been New Zealand international Liz Thompson, Jordan Homann from Loughborough along with Ellie Mackenzie who has a fruitful season, scoring nine goals this term.
She is the second highest scorer behind the resurgent Darcy Bourne after some tough times with injury – she has 13 to her name.
She will be key to their chances along with Olympic gold medalist Giselle Ansley, Sophie Hamilton, Izzy Petter and Holly Payne.
Domestically, they are in the mix for a finals weekend place with one round of matches to go, sitting in second place in their third phase group.
