About AH&BC Amsterdam
AH&BC Amsterdam are back in the EHL after a three-year break, looking to start the journey toward a fourth medal in club hockey’s elite competition.
They do so with a side packed with talent and augmented by some serious names. Robert Kemperman bid an emotional goodbye to Kampong to join Amsterdam during the summer to give their midfield a huge boost while Boris Burkhardt is back at the club after a couple of seasons at hdm in The Hague where he completed his PhD alongside topping the goalscoring charts in the Promotion Class.
He previously played with Amsterdam between 2016 and 2020, lining out in the EHL in 2017 and 2019. The other addition is defender Siem Schoenaker who makes the switch from neighbouring club Hurley.
They join a line-up which features the hugely prolific Mirco Pruijser, Australians Trent Mitton, Fergus Kavanagh and Matthew Dawson, Belgium’s Nicolas Poncelet along with Under-21 internationals Brent van Bijnen, Floris Middendorp and Luke Dommershuijzen. Teun Rohof, though, has retired following 16 seasons in the first team.
They finished third place in last season’s Hoofdklasse and bowed out of the playoffs at the semi-final stage, putting them in the third Dutch seeding for this year’s EHL.
