Match report
SCHC got over the strong challenge of Railway Union to reach the FINAL8 of the women’s competition with two goals in each half making the difference in Den Bosch.
Railway Union did have the first series of chances, a volley of corners which Elodie Picard needed to be alert to save.
From there, SCHC stepped up a gear and they went in front when Yibbi Jansen cracked home a penalty corner rebound on her backhand after Emma Maloney made a fine first-up save.
And they were 2-0 to the good when Maud van den Heuvel turned the ball in after a surging run from Xan de Waard down the right wing.
The game was made safe in the second half when Pien Dicke and Jansen added further goals from corners but they found further inroads harder to come by against a strong Railway defence, backed up by the impressive Maloney between the posts.
