Match report

Düsseldorfer HC won their first ever EHL medal as three second half goals saw them defeat Sanse Complutense 3-0 in the women’s BRONZE MATCH.

Sanse had the best of a scoreless first half with Nathalie Kubalski doing brilliantly to block from Pilar Campoy while they also had a series of corners but could not convert.

Düsseldorf, though, impressed in the second half and went in front when Elisa Gräve spun in the circle to get the ball to Agustina Albertarrio who poked home from close range.

And they pulled away in the closing minutes. First, Lisa Nolte intercepted a high overhead to break the defensive lines and she passed to Sara Strauss who slipped the ball by Lucia Caruso.

Then, with an unguarded goal, Sanse allowed Albertarrio space to get to the edge of the circle and shoot home on her reverse, making it 3-0.
