About Surbiton HC
English champions Surbiton have been in red-hot form in their domestic competition, winning 12 successive game to build an eight-point lead.
They do so with a side packed with international talent; most recently, James Gall, Conor Williamson, David Goodfield, Will Calnan, Stu Rushmere and Jacob Payton all helped England to qualify for the World Cup in Egypt along with the summer signing Nick Bandurak. Gareth Furlong did likewise with Wales in Chile.
Those Seals are back up by the likes of former England Under-21 captain Max Anderson, Tim Nurse and Nick Park who all have international experience. The ever-green Barry Middleton is still shining on the playing front which he combines with the coaching role – he provides a link to the inaugural EHL season having played in the 2007/08 season with HGC.
On the goalkeeping front, Calum Douglas has taken up the number one role following James Mazarelo’s move to Old Georgians
Surbiton start their campaign with a rematch against Club de Campo whom they played last year at this venue as well as the 2022 Bronze Match which they won to win their maiden EHL medal.
