About Royal Racing Club de Bruxelles
Belgian champions Royal Racing Club de Bruxelles are back in the EHL after a five-year hiatus and looking forward to a date with host club Pinoké in the FINAL8.
Their previous best performance came in the 2013/14 season when they reached the FINAL4 in Eindhoven and there are a number of links between the two sides with goalkeeper Jérémy Gucassoff, Jérôme Truyens, Cédric Charlier and assistant coach Thibaut Cornillie connecting the generations.
Charlier is one of the Red Lion Olympic and World Cup medalists alongside Victor Wegnez and Tanguy Cosyns. Ignasi Torras brings plenty of EHL know-how, reaching the final with Atlètic Terrassa a couple of seasons ago while 20-year-old Gaspard Xavier is a rising French star, playing in the recent World Cup in India.
On the coaching front, Xavier de Greve is another who knows success in the EHL, coaching Waterloo Ducks to the title in 2019. He took on the T1 job last summer, taking over the reins from Craig Fulton who is now with KHC Dragons and will soon take over as India’s men’s head coach.
They sit in fourth place in the Belgian league following a 2-2 draw with Braxgata last weekend despite a double from Cosyns.
