About Royal Leopold Club
This season, Royal Léopold added two heavyweights in attack to bolster their attack for the new campaign in Red Lion Nelson Onana and Spanish international striker José Basterea.
They add to the goal machine Tom Boon who – with 41 goals last season – was subsequently named the Stick D’Or winner for last season and he scored six times in the KO16 in London. There, they defeated Banbridge 4-2 and Lille MHC 4-0 to advance to the FINAL8.
The club has seen three departures for the 2024/25 season; Tom Degroote has crossed the Uccle commune to play for Uccle Sport.
From their defence, they have two further departures: Max Muschs and Lewis Eaton who are going to Racing and Uccle Sport respectively. The core is solid with talent and experience in each line with the likes of Gauthier Boccard, Elliot van Strydonck, Dimitri Cuvelier, Nicolas Poncelet, Gaspard Baumgarten and Jean-Baptiste Forgues carrying huge experience.
Their target this season is to convert regular season dominance into final championship success having missed out in the playoffs for the past few seasons.
Speaking about the campaign ahead, Club President Nicolas Leeuw said: “Our ambitions are clear and similar to previous years: to reach the semi-finals of the championship and more if we want to.
“We also want to prepare for the future by integrating young players from the club, if they deserve it.”
The side is coached by Agustin Corradini once again.
