About Old Georgians HC
Old Georgians men will aim to regain the England Hockey league title and get back into the EHL mix with a couple of standout additions.
The biggest of their signings is England goalkeeper James Mazarelo who move from arch rivals Surbiton, taking on the goalkeeping role from ex-international George Pinner who has retired.
Henry Croft will bolster their formidable attacking line-up following his switch from Beeston while Pablo Usoz is another strong addition, moving from Club de Campo de Madrid.
They join a panel laden with vastly experienced international players. Sam Ward began his season in goalscoring form with a hat trick on day one when they defeated Beeston with Croft also scoring against his former club.
Ian Sloan, Alan Forsyth, David Condon, Chris Griffiths, Phil Roper, Dan Shingles, David Ames, Liam Sanford and Tom Carson have a mountain of caps to drawn upon as does captain James Albery and current Irish skipper Kyle Marshall.
This is their fourth successive EHL season, the highlight of which was their 2024 bronze in the Wagener Stadium.
They are unbeaten in the English league after four matches, drawing their last pre-EHL fixture with Wimbledon 1-1. Ward has netted eight times already with Croft also among the goals.
