About Mannheimer HC
The German champions are competing in their ninth EHL season, hoping to embark on the road to a second medal having won bronze in 2019.
They do so with a number of top class reinforcements with Matteo Poljaric – the German Under-21 captain from last year’s Junior World Cup final – coming from Berliner HC and Ben Hasbach arriving having lit up Harvestehuder THC over the last couple of seasons.
They link up with fellow Under-21 internationals Peer Hinrichs, goalkeeper Florian Simon and Hugo von Monteglas.
The other strong addition is Argentina international Thomas Habif, moving to the city of his sisters and brother-in-law Gonzalo Peillat.
He was part of the German side who took Olympic silver in the summer. Teo Hinrichs has moved to Barcelona and Real Club de Polo while Danny Nguyen has retired.
Coach Andreu Enrich says of the campaign ahead: “EHL is always a great competition to play in. It’s an opportunity to travel and face opponents from different leagues with varying game styles.
“Last season, we were clearly defeated in the first game against a top English team, Old Georgians.
“This season we have to face AHTC Wien first, let’s see if we have a chance to win and then fight the next day to get a ticket for the KO8, which would be another great experience to share with the team.”
