About HC ‘s-Hertogenbosch
Quite simply, one of the greatest club sides put together in hockey history as the stats will attest and they will be looking to use home advantage to full effect at Easter.
Incredibly, Josine Koning, Pien Sanders, Sanne Koolen, Frédérique Matla Joosje Burg and Maartje Krekelaar all played in the 2015 EuroHockey Women’s Club Champions Cup final as teenagers, showing their experience and longevity at the top of the game.
Ten years on, the club has now amassed two EHL Women’s titles to add to their 16 EuroHockey Club Cup titles since 2000.
Koning, Sanders, Koolen, Matla and Burg were joined in the Dutch Olympic gold medal winning squad by Laura Nunnink and Rosa Fernig while Charlotte Englebert is Belgium’s playmaker.
Their panel is reasonably settled with only Lieve Wijckmans adding to the panel this term from the club’s youth while Pleun van der Plas has stopped and Amber Brouwer has moved to Oranje-Rood.
Marieke Dijkstra coaches the team who will be going for a third title on this stage, winning it 2021 and 2023, both times with final wins over Club de Campo de Madrid.
They have had some injury concerns of late with Burg and Matla missing out on games as a result which could blunt their attacking options. Nonetheless, they are in the box seat in the Hoofdklasse with a five-point lead over SCHC.
