About HC Rotterdam
Rotterdam are back in the EHL’s main competition after a six-year break, keen to add to their trio of bronze medals and the 2010 silver.
They qualified by virtue of their run to the Dutch championship final, finishing as runners-up to SV Kampong 4-3 on aggregate in the two-legged decider, memorably eliminating Bloemendaal in the semi-final.
Their side has a wealth of Olympic gold medalists in their panel. Speedster Thijs van Dam, defender Justen Blok, Tjep Hoedemakers, Stijn van Heijnegen and goalkeeper Derk Meijer all took to the Paris podium in the Netherlands’ thrilling run to glory.
They continue to have goal machine Jeroen Hertzberger in their line-up and he will be keen to add to his EHL record total of 40 goals in 38 games.
Late in the transfer window, they also add Spanish star Marc Recasens from Real Club de Polo along with Jesse Steenhoff coming up from the club’s youth section, Ole Dorscheidt returning to the club after a spell at Cartouche and Bouwe Buitenhuis comes from Klein Zwitserland.
Going the other way, Mahinder Terlouw and Harry Martin both move to Hurley while Timo Goor has retired.
