About Gantoise HC (Women)
The Belgian champions are playing in EHL Women for the fourth consecutive season, looking to reach the FINAL4 for the season time, a feat they achieved in 2022.
Last time out, they pushed SCHC all the way in the FINAL8 before succumbing 2-1 before coming unstuck against England’s East Grinstead.
This season, they are once again leading the way in the Belgian league with a seven-point buffer over Dragons whom they drew with 0-0 on the Sunday before the EHL.
Their squad was bolstered by the arrivals of Irish player Hannah McLoughlin last summer, adding to a team with plenty of Olympic know-how.
Striker Ambre Ballenghien will be key to their chances while Barbara Nelen, Alix Gerniers, Hélène Brasseur and Michelle Struijk are in the engine room behind her.
Astrid Bonami is one of the emerging stars for the Belgian Red Panthers having top scored at the EuroHockey U21 Championships in Terrassa last summer. They await the winner of Mannheimer HC and MSC Sumchanka in the last eight phase.
