About East Grinstead HC
East Grinstead will make their EHL Women’s debut having placed in the EuroHockey Club Trophy in 2021 in Lille and 2022 in Cernusco.
It follows their maiden English women’s title last April when they ended the long reign of Surbiton in the final.
They are captained by Argentinean player Guadalupe Fernández Lacort who played in her country’s gold medal run at the 2016 Junior World Cup.
She leads a line-up which includes England internationals like Tess Howard and Ellie Rayer and
new recruits this season like Lily Walker and Grace Balsdon as well as former England goal-getter supreme Sophie Bray. The vastly experienced Laura Roper is the player-assistant-coach alongside head coach Theo Dowse.
They become the latest club to have EHL entrants with their men having played in seven seasons of the competition.
