About Club Campo de Madrid (men)
Club de Campo de Madrid are competing in the EHL for the seventh season with their most memorable run coming in 2011 when they reached the GRAND FINAL.
In 2022, they reached the FINAL4 with a FINAL8 win over SV Arminen before falling to eventual winners Bloemendaal and the 2-1 to Surbiton in the BRONZE MATCH.
They won the Spanish title last season in dominant fashion but have found things a little harder this season.
Campo finished the first half of the season in second place with 26 points out of the 33 on offer, scoring close to 4.5 goals per game. Jose “Chef” Basterra has been leading the way, topping the goalscoring table with 19 goals, eight ahead of the next highest scorer on the list.
Quique Gonzalez, Alvaro Iglesias, Ignacio Abajo Saenz de Tejada and Borja Lacalle have also weighed in heavily and are all part of the wider Spanish panel along with Rafa Revilla, Rafael Vilallonga, Alvaro Portugal and Nacho Rodriguez.
