About Braxgata HC
Braxgata are already profiting from extra firepower this season with Thibeau Stockbroekx and Sebastien Dockier as they sit top of the Carlsberg 0.0 league in Belgium.
It had helped them to the top of the table at this early stage, three points above Gantoise and Waterloo Ducks, with 16 points out of the 18 on offer to date.
The two forwards arrived this summer after spells in the Hoofdklasse with Stockbeoeckx joining the club from Oranje-Rood and Dockier from Pinoké, winning the Dutch championship and EHL.
For club president Erik Gysels, they were key targets after the departures of Pieter van Straaten to Antwerp and the retirement of Thomas Briels.
“Their departures were known well in advance,” says Gysels in the off season.. “We had a very strong season, but we just didn’t score enough field goals.”
“To further strengthen our attacking power, we signed Thibeau Stockbroekx and Sébastien Dockier; Two top players with impressive track records.
“‘Tibi’ Stockbroekx has developed into an absolute top player at Oranje-Rood, and Dockier has no intention of slowing down. He’s hungry.”
They have joined a rising Brax side who have Arthur Van Doren and Loick Luypaert at the base of their defence, backed up by Dutch goalkeeper Pirmin Blaak.
Irish stars Daragh Walsh and Ben Walker, along with Spain’s Marc Reyné, give them a high level of international experience to work with.
And it is that know-how they will be looking to put into full effect when they take on Western Wildcats on October 11th in the EHL Men’s KO16 in Barcelona, their debut in the competition.
