Mannheim extend lead to seven points in women’s Bundesliga

Mannheimer HC picked up five points out of six on the final weekend of the women’s Bundesliga schedule before Christmas to hold a seven-point lead at the season’s half-way stage.

They closed out their series with a 3-0 win last Saturday against Rot-Weiss Köln before being pushed all the way by Bremer HC on Sunday in a scoreless draw. MHC picked up the bonus point on offer, though, with Stine Kurz and Juana Castallaro Morello scoring the goals in a 2-1 success.

It leaves them seven clear of Rot-Weiss, Bremer HC and Düsseldorfer HC who are all on 22 points after their set of 11 games having dropped points over the weekend.

Mannheim’s Alice Arnott leads the way in the goalscoring charts with eight goals thus far, one ahead of Bremer HC’s Lena Frerichs.

The league is now on hiatus until next March 20th 2027, a week before the EHL where Mannheim and Düsseldorf will be in action in Eindhoven.
