HC Oranje-Rood will welcome Europe’s leading club sides back to Eindhoven from March 24 to 29, 2027 after being confirmed as host of the 20th edition of the ABN AMRO Euro Hockey League FINALS.
The decision follows a highly successful ROUND1 tournament in Eindhoven last weekend, where the home club secured their place in the men’s FINAL12 alongside Royal Orée, Lisnagarvey and SV Arminen.
HC Oranje-Rood chairperson Birgit Slaats said: “We are incredibly proud and delighted that HC Oranje-Rood will once again host the EHL FINALS at Easter, the most prestigious club hockey tournament in Europe.
“It is a wonderful recognition of our club and everyone who contributes to its success. We are very much looking forward to welcoming Europe’s top hockey teams back to Eindhoven and creating another fantastic event together.”
Reacting to the news, Remco van Dooren, Alderman for Sports, Municipality of Eindhoven, added: “We are very proud that Eindhoven hosted this tournament over the last few days in our sports-mad city.
“And so it is really good news that Eindhoven will be the place to be next year with the FINAL12 for men and women, the EHL Hockey ID tournament and EHL U14 all taking place next Easter.
“We’re all looking forward to making it a real hockey party and it will be great to be back here at this wonderful club.”
The EHL FINALS will feature 32 elite matches, with 16 men’s and 16 women’s fixtures played in a straight knockout race to crown Europe’s club champions.
In addition, the venue will play host to the annual EHL Hockey ID and EHL U14 tournaments for boys and girls as well as numerous side events and clinics, making it a true festival for the sport.
EHL chairman Peter Elders said the recent ROUND1 event demonstrated Eindhoven’s readiness to host the competition’s showpiece occasion.
“We were delighted to work with HC Oranje-Rood in Eindhoven for ROUND1 so soon after the World Cup. It offered us a little chance to test how things work at the club and see first hand the hospitality and organisation in place for the bigger event at Easter.
“Well, in short: the test was successful! We look forward to our first double FINAL12 in these welcoming surroundings and thank our great sponsors for enabling this.”
The event will, once again, have the invaluable support from the local province with Nienke Nijenhuis, Managing Director of BrabantSport saying: “As the TeamNL centre for the south of the Netherlands, we are proud that Eindhoven is now confirmed to host the Euro Hockey League in 2027.
“Oranje-Rood’s qualification is a fantastic achievement. For us, every medal has two sides: alongside performance and winning, there is the inspiration that elite sport provides.
“Young athletes get to see their heroes up close, while emerging talents discover what is possible. Together with all parties involved we look forward to welcoming players, teams and supporters from across Europe.’
Bas Maes, minister of Sport of the province of North Brabant added: “The Euro Hockey League coming to Eindhoven once again demonstrates that Brabant is a home for international elite sports. The value of an event like this extends beyond the hockey pitch: it brings people together, inspires children to take up sport and connects our region with the rest of Europe.
“That is exactly what we stand for in Brabant. Through sports, we get people moving, both literally and figuratively, and help build a healthier, stronger Brabant.’
With the host venue now confirmed, attention turns to the EHL FINALS draw, which takes place on Monday, October 19th, when clubs will discover their route to the title. The full match schedule and ticket information will be released subsequently.
