High quality third team appointed for EHL Men ROUND1

The EHL Men ROUND1 team officials will aim to make sure the hockey shines this weekend in Eindhoven as they look after the 12 matches being played from October 9th to 11th at HC Oranje-Rood.

Six of the 10 umpires have officiated at EHL events while the rest of the group have risen through the ranks to form a strong team in Eindhoven.

Tim Meissner is the most experienced whistle-blower from this group with this being his 11th different EHL competition in addition to the 2025 EuroHockey Championships in Mönchengladbach.

Spain’s Gemma Calderon is involved in her fourth EHL weekend. Previously, she was an umpire in the women’s 2025 Grand Final between Den Bosch and Braxgata while she has amassed nearly 60 senior international fixtures.

Pauline Cuypers has her second EHL appointment of 2026. She was in Den Bosch at Easter where she was on the field for the women’s bronze match between Real Club de Campo against Mannheimer HC.

This will be Harry Collinson’s third EHL tournament having been part of the team for the finals in 2023 in Amstelveen, doing the men’s bronze match between Racing Club de Bruxelles and Atlètic Terrassa. He is among a trio of umpires who at the EHL KO16 last October in Barcelona.

For Steven Bakker, it is his second successive October EHL appointment after a busy weekend in Barcelona last year, umpiring three games and being in the video box twice. Since then, he took charge of the Euro indoor championship in Prague last January.

Katie Howie was also part of the EHL umpire team a year ago at Polo with four on-field games, quickly followed by an extensive schedule at the women’s Junior World Cup in Chile.

The Netherlands’ Manouk Bakker is one of the newer faces to the EHL scene ;she has already umpired in several international tournaments including January’s EuroHockey Indoor Championship in Prague.

Scotland’s Duncan Razzak will debut in the EHL too. He has umpired on the international stage for the past 10 years and was part of the third team at the Club Trophy I in April where SV Arminen and Lisnagarvey both participated.

Ireland’s Russell Donaldson was also part of that group in Vienna before umpiring the bronze medal match at the men’s EuroHockey U21 Championship in Valencia this summer.

Marius Cuadrat from Spain will be making his first EHL appearance. He previously umpired the bronze match at the 2024 EuroHockey U21 Championship in Terrassa and was in Rome earlier this year for the Club Trophy II-A.

They will work with experienced umpires managers Rob Ten Cate and Gabriele Schmitz throughout the competition.

The officials team will be headed up by Scotland’s Barbara Morgan who brings a wealth of knowledge to the role having previously been TD at the EuroHockey Championships in 2017 in Amstelveen among many other top line events.

She will work in tandem with TO John Taylor and a judges team of Ralph van Eck, Zuzanna Orzeł, Johannes Lassila, Adrienne Lijs and Friedrich Najork.
