Mannheim scored two flurries of goals – four in Q2, five in Q5 – to record a 9-0 win over debuting side MSC Sumchanka and put them through to a FINAL8 game against Gantoise.

The first quarter was scoreless with the Ukraine side working well to keep the German team at bay. But things opened up in the last five minutes before half-time.

Nadine Kanler’s penalty corner touch set the ball rolling in the 26th minute; Lucia Jimenez added two more, one of them a lovely aerial control and finish, before Stine Kurz completed the first half scoring.

As time wore on, Mannheim continued to find space in behind the last lines of the Sumchanka defence and eventually started to run up the goals.

Aina Kresken got two of them with Kanler, Clara Badia and Sonja Zimmerman also chipping in.
