Joep Troost’s single goal saw Pinoké advance to the ABN AMRO EHL FINAL4 for the first time as they saw off a big Real Club de Polo challenge.
It puts them through to a date with Old Georgians on Saturday as they delighted a big home crowd at the Wagener Stadium.
Pinoké made most of the early running as Polo scrambled well in defence and had a couple of big chances on the counter in a scoreless first quarter.
The breakthrough did come in the 22nd minute after a mad scramble in the circle. Boris Aardenburg finally got the ball out of a mix of sticks and crossed under his arm to Joep Troost who had a simple finish.
The third quarter was incredibly tight with Polo enjoying the clearer moments in front of goal but they could not make the most of their openings.
Polo were unable to get a shot off from their one corner while Pinoké missed out from their only one of the second half as a passionate battle flowed from end to end.
In the end, they could not find a way past Hidde Brink and the hosts held on for their 1-0 win.
