Royal Racing Club de Bruxelles have qualified to be the Belgian boys representatives at the EHL U14 Boys competition next Easter.
They won a playoff game against Royal Léopold after both teams had been top of their respective sections thus far this season with perfect records.
In the playoff, the Rats took the lead in the 18th minute thanks to a great team move initiated by Hugo Dejardin who found Alexis Masset in the circle. His cross was turned in by Arnaud Lemal.
Léo equalised quickly via Maddox Ipsen from a Mateo Fawe assist but the game was ultimately settled late in the second half with Benjamin Toussaint scoring the winner in the 57th minute.
It means the side coached by Linda Haussner and Diego Lucaccioni will be the Belgian representatives next Easter.
The ABN AMRO EHL U14 Boys and Girls competitions will both take place next Easter in tandem with the EHL FINAL8.
They feature one representative from each of the top six nations on the men’s and women’s EHL Ranking Table; it is at the discretion of each national association to determine who represents their country.
