Holcombe are through to the KO8 as they won a feisty contest with Racing Club de France 4-2 with Nick Bandurak leading the line superbly.
He started and ending the scoring with his first coming in the seventh minute off the back of Samuel Taylor’s monster overhead and a surging run from Tom Russell on the right baseline.
Racing, though, were a force to be reckoned with and they were level in Q1 from a Christopher Peters-Deutz corner from a clever mini-switch to the left.
Phil Roper restored the lead following a patient build-up, arriving at the top of the circle and pushing first time into the bottom left corner.
Russell volleyed in a high ball after a melee in front of the Racing goal, the first of three goals to be scored while the opponent had a player in the sin-bin. It made it 3-1 in the 36th minute.
Peters-Deutz cut the gap once more from another corner, this time on a rebound with 11 minutes to go.
But Bandurak saw off the win after a perfect piece of possession hockey against a short-handed opponent with Taylor eventually stepping forward from centre-back. His pass into space was meant sweetly by Bandurak moving away from goal.
