Gantoise will meet KHC Dragons in the Belgian women’s final weekend for the third successive season when they meet twice in Brasschaat.
The reigning champions from Ghent side did not have things all their own way as they lost their opening tie 2-1 against Racing Club de Bruxelles.
But they bounced back on Sunday with Berta Bonastre levelling the tie on aggregate before Ambre Ballenghien scored in the 35th and 40th minutes to put her side ahead 4-2 overall.
Charlotte Englebert got one back late in the game – in what was her last game before moving to Den Bosch – but they could not force an equaliser.
KHC Dragons went all the way to a shoot-out against Braxgata to prevail; Dragons led 1-0 after the first leg but goals from Louise Versavel and Rachel McCann in the first 20 minutes of leg two swapped the lead.
Valerie Magis, however, got the leveller overall to give the Brasschaat club the shoot-out chance which they prevailed in 4-3.
Gantoise and Dragons will now meet on Saturday and Sunday in a two-legged final.
