CA Montrouge took the first French EHL Men’s spot as winners of their regular season as they topped the table with 43 points from their 18 fixtures.
They were confirmed on top of the pile with a week to go when they ran up a 10-0 success over Stade Français while nearest rivals Paris St Germain fell to a 3-2 defeat to seventh-placed Amiens.
Prior to that, just a point separated the sides but it allowed Montrouge to move clear and they saw out the season with a 6-2 victory against FC Lyon with four goals from Corentin Sellier.
They will now move onto the playoff finals with a semi-final date on Saturday against Lille MHC with Saint Germain playing Racing Club de France in the other final four encounter.
The overall winner of the playoffs will earn the other EHL ticket on offer in France; should Montrouge win both titles, the playoffs runner-up will take that spot.
On the women’s side, Racing Club de France won the regular season with Cambrai second, CA Montrouge in third and Saint Germain in fourth place to make up the semi-final line-up.
