The first ever ABN AMRO EHL Hockey ID event will take place next week on Sunday, April 9 in the Amsterdamse Bos.
For this inaugural edition, four teams will participate with Hudito (Netherlands), Upward (Netherlands), KHC Dragons (Belgium) and Rheydter (Germany) taking part in this special event.
Pinoké has a strong history of supporting Hockey ID events, hosting last summer’s EuroHockey ID Championships alongside the women’s World Cup.
Marcel Balkestein – an EHL Men’s winner in 2015 with MHC Oranje Zwart – is a main organiser behind the competition and he is thrilled to see this project come to life and showcasing ABN AMRO’s commitment to inclusivity.
“The reason we are doing this is because we live in a society where everyone should be equal,” he said.
“That is also what ABN AMRO have in their DNA. I worked for ABN AMRO during my hockey career and my company is organising tournaments so they asked me to organise the ABN AMRO EHL Hockey ID 2023.
“It is nice to see that all people, black or white, young or old, disabled or not, are taking part in such a nice event. The ceremony will be the same for the senior stars, the Under 14s and the Hockey ID. An inclusive society!”
