Royal Racing Club de Bruxelles remain in the playoff hunt in Belgium following a big 7-2 win at Leuven last Sunday with international stars Tanguy Cosyns and Cedric Charlier hitting home twice.
They got off to a fast start with Augustin Meurmans and Cosyns building a 2-0 lead while Charlier’s first goal kept them clear despite a rally from Leuven.
But an Achille de Chaffoy goal three minutes before half-time was a big moment and then three more second half goals saw them pull away with Jérôme Truyens completing the rout.
The win puts them within a point of third placed Gantoise who fell to a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Herakles. They did fight back from 2-0 down to draw level but Herakles finished stronger to pull away.
Royal Léopold strengthened their place at the top with a 4-2 win over Orée with second placed Dragons drawing 1-1 with Braxgata. Léo now lead the rankings by six points with six rounds of matches to go.
