Gantoise double over Orée in Belgium

Gantoise did the double at Orée with both their men and women landing high-scoring wins to keep rolling on well in their respective Ion Hockey Leagues.

The men did fall behind twice to Toni Domene goals in the first 18 minutes, going behind 1-0 and then 2-1 after Romain Duvekot’s first equaliser.

It remained like that until 14 minutes from the end when Antoine Kina found a corner goal to make it 2-2. And they cut loose after that with Timothée Clément putting them in front for the first time and then Luke Madeley made the game safe.

Etienne Tynevez closed out a 5-2 success that keeps them in third place in the league table, moving a couple of points ahead of fourth placed Racing Club de Bruxelles who drew 4-4 with Herakles.

On the women’s side, Ambre Ballenghien scored a hat trick with further goals from Delfina Gaspari, Alix Gerniers, 16-year-old Louise van Hecke and Lara Oviedo in a 7-1 win.

That win – in tandem with a 1-1 draw for Braxgata against Antwerp – allowed the Ghent club to move two points clear at the head of the table.
