The EHL FINAL8 match schedule for Easter 2023 has been confirmed with 20 top class matches to be played from April 6-10 in the Wagener Stadium.
The festival begins on Thursday, April 6 with four high octane fixtures on display. Host club Pinoké will be the last side on court on the first day as they face Royal Racing Club de Bruxelles at 19.15 (CET); it follows debutantes Pembroke Wanderers and Sanse Complutense at 12.30 and Gantoise versus Club de Campo de Madrid at 14.45 in the women’s competition along with the men’s battle between HC Bloemendaal and Harvestehuder THC at 17.00.
On Friday, April 7, the EHL action will be split into two segments. It’s an all German affair to start the day with Hamburger Polo Club meeting Rot-Weiss Köln at 09.30 (CET) with Surbiton’s women taking on Düsseldorfer HC at 11.45.
There will then be a break the EHL action for the afternoon before Atlètic Terrassa face Gantoise in the men’s FINAL8 at 18.00 (CET) before the big Dutch derby between HC ’s-Hertogenbosch and SCHC at 20.15 (CET).
The reason for the gap in the schedule is due to the agreement reached for usage of the Wagener Stadium between the EHL, stadium owners the KNHB, Pinoké and AH&BC Amsterdam. As part of this agreement, fixtures from a pre-scheduled Under-18 tournament will be played during the break between EHL fixtures.
Those FINAL8 fixtures set the tone for a big weekend of all-or-nothing fixtures; Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9 will feature the FINAL4 match-ups alongside four ranking matches.
Easter Monday will see all the battles for the medals taking place with the women’s GRAND FINAL at 13.45 (CET) and the men’s GRAND FINAL at 16.15 (CET).
Tickets details will be released in due course.
