Harvestehuder THC win hamburg derby

Harvestehuder THC won their Bundesliga derby with fellow EHL Men’s KO16-bound side Hamburger Polo Club 4-3 to make it three wins in succession.

It has HTHC among four clubs with nine points after four rounds of competition to put them in good shape ahead of hosting the EHL Men’s KO16 from September 29 to October 2.

In the early phases, Polo had the best of things and took the lead when Diede van Puffelen turned over possession and played the ball around the goalkeeper via Constantin Staib to make it 1-0 in the eighth minute.

HTHC countered through Bill Ntuli and he set up Luis Holste to equalise the ball and, just before half-time, Paul Glander made it 2-1 from a corner.

Polo levelled the game when Max Silanoglu scored 15 seconds into the second half and they had the lead once again via Hugo Inglis in the 35th minute.

But HTHC pulled the result out of the fire with two late goals. They trailed 3-2 with three minutes to go but Anton Pöhling somehow poked the ball into the goal for 3-3 and then Holste deflected in to win the game.

In their final EHL build-up games, Polo face Uhlenhorst Mülheim away from home while HTHC are up against Mannheimer HC.

Elsewhere, Rot-Weiss Köln are the only side with a 100% record thanks to a 4-1 win in Mannheim. Crefelder HTC lost their winning streak with a 3-1 loss in Berlin while Club an der Alster beat UHC Hamburg 3-2.
