Real Club de Polo’s women and Club Egara’s men picked up early season silverware with Catalonian titles on Saturday in Barcelona.

Polo’s women won on home turf against Junior FC. Xantal Giné put her side in front and they moved further clear via Liv Maria Arndt and Maria Paula Ortiz in the second half.
Gigi Oliva got one back but Giné’s second rubber-stamped the victory despite a final quarter effort from Berta Serrahima.

In a precursor to their meeting in the EHL Men’s KO16, Egara got the bragging rights against Polo in their final, a resounding 4-1 success for Ramon Sala’s team.
Polo did take the lead through a Marc Miralles’ goal. It wasn’t until the third period Egara turned things around with quickfire efforts from Marc Recasens, Pol Gispert and Martí Soler building a healthy lead.
In the last quarter, Pere Amat put them well and truly out of sight.
