Robert Kemperman opened the scoring with a typically rasping reverse-stick shot before HGC bounced back with Alan Forsyth equalising with a brilliant piece of control and finish from a long overhead pass.

A slick turnover made it 2-1 to the visitors with Lucas Veen slapping home from close range. Valentijn Charbon levelled the game at 2-2 with a deflected shot but HGC were back in front via Maico Casella courtesy of an upright reverse-stick shot, rebounding off a Zach Wallace effort.

But the game was even by the final whistle when Kemperman whizzed the ball across the face of goal and it took a heavy touch at the near-post from a defensive stick to sneak over the line.

Elsewhere, a hat-trick from Alexander Hendrickx saw Pinoké win a cracking contest against Den Bosch 4-3 to

He scored the first two goals before Koen Bijen and Paul-Philipp Kaufman made it level at 2-2. Florent van Aubel – with his second goal in two games for his new club – put them back in front only for Max Kreft to equalise at 3-3. Hendrickx, however, fired home this third for the winner in the 55th minute.

They are level at the top with Kampong who beat Voordaan 6-1 and Oranje-Rood who beat Schaerweijde. Bloemendaal defeated Rotterdam 4-1.
