Old Georgians have confirmed their new additions for the upcoming season as they make their EHL debut and prepare to defend their English title.

England Under-21 internationals Josh Pavis and Stu Kentwell (both from Beeston) link up with the club along with South African international Matt Brown who played several Pro League matches in 2022.

Will Dibiase (St George’s College) and Oscar Jensen (Nottingham Uni) are other young stars added to their panel for the season.

They will make their EHL debut as English champions having topped their national league last April with a couple of games to spare. It continued a remarkable rise having only earned promotion to the top tier in England in 2019. That was just a year on from being in the relegation playoffs in 2018.

They added the English Cup for good measure and they look forward to their EHL bow with a side packed full of international experience.

It features a wealth of Olympians from the past decade. Ashley Jackson (2008, 2012 and 2016) is chief among them with James Tindall (2008, 2012), Henry Weir, George Pinner (both 2016), Sam Ward (2016 and 2020), Chris Griffiths and Liam Sanford (both 2020) all involved while co-captain Dan Shingles was a travelling reserve in 2016.

In addition, England’s Chris Proctor, Ireland’s Kyle Marshall and Nick Page, Great Britain’s Lee Morton and Wales’ James Carson make for a squad packed with international experience. Andy Bull is the one departure, moving to Beerschot in Belgium.

The English league starts on September 25th before Old Georgians make their EHL debut against SV Arminen on October 1st.
