Euro club leagues back for new term

A number of Europe’s top leagues hit the turf for the new club season today with Germany and the Netherlands chief among them while the Belgian league returns tomorrow.

In Germany, EHL Men’s KO16 hosts Harvestehuder THC will be one of the featured sides with their derby match against Der Club an der Alster being shown live on the club’s Youtube channel.

For the Hamburger Polo Club, recently runners-up to Rot-Weiss Köln, the new round starts with a derby at the neighbouring UHC Hamburg. 

The women’s league started on Saturday morning with Mannheimer HC defeating GrossflotbekerTHGC 5-1. The vast majority of fixtures will be live streamed with links to be found on: https://www.hockeyliga.live/

In the Netherlands, the Hoofdklasse enters a new era with matches now being shown on a Saturday evening. There are two men’s and two women’s fixtures on the agenda.

The men’s games feature Den Bosch against reigning EHL champions Bloemendaal at 4.30pm (CET) before Klein Zwitserland face AH&BC Amsterdam at 6.30pm.

The women’s games see the same match-up – Klein Zwitserland face AH&BC Amsterdam – at 4.30pm to raise the season’s curtain and then Hurley are up against Bloemendaal at 6.30pm.

Belgium’s Honor Divisions start on Sunday. There is a mouthwatering battle between last year’s top two as Gantoise face Dragons in the women’s competition while Racing Club de Bruxelles’ men being their title defence against Uccle.

The Spanish, Irish and French leagues all begin in two weeks time.
