Mannheimer HC, Düsseldorfer HC, Der Club an der Alster and Harvestehuder THC all reached the women’s Bundesliga final four over the weekend to earn their place at next weekend’s final four in Bonn.
Mannheim were the only club to require a Sunday third leg after their big Saturday comeback against Munich SC came up just short.
Mannheim had won the first game 3-0 but were 2-0 down against Munich before drawing game two on Saturday. They scored twice in the last few minutes to send it to shoot-out but Munich steadied to win out and send it to game three.
But Mannheim prevailed with something to spare with Sonja Zimmerman’s corner putting them 1-0 up at half-time. Florencia Habif and Stine Kurz expanded the lead to three by the end of the third quarter and they ended up winning out 5-1.
Düsseldorf went through with a 3-1 success against Berliner HC to add to their 2-0 victory in game one.
Alster backed up a first leg 2-1 win with a 2-0 success against UHC Hamburg while Harvestehuder THC beat Rot-Weiss Köln 3-2 in their first game and then 4-2 in game two.
The semis feature Mannheim against HTHC while Düsseldorf face Alster in next Saturday’s semi-finals.
