Martin and Costello add to English champions line-up

Surbiton have added two more excellent additions to their panel for the 2022/23 season with Hannah Martin returning to the club while Amy Costello is also set to link up with the Sugden Road outfit.

Martin played for Hurley in the Hoofdklasse last season in the wake of helping Great Britain to Olympic bronze.

“After a brilliant year in the Netherlands at THC Hurley, I’m looking forward to returning to Surbiton HC,” she said. “I loved my time in Holland, and it provided the opportunity to challenge myself as a player and grow as a person experiencing a different culture and living in a new country, and I was lucky enough to meet some wonderful people.

“Coming back to the UK, I am so excited for what’s to come with Surbiton with there being so many incredible plans for the wider club moving forward!”

Scottish and GB international Costello is switching from UHC Hamburg to join the English champions. She made her Scottish senior debut in 2016 while still at school and first represented GB in February 2018. She is now approaching 100 combined caps for Scotland and Great Britain.

“It’s a real privilege to join a club with such history, ambition and success,” she said of the move. “Surbiton HC has one of the best atmospheres and a real family feel about it. I am really looking forward to getting to know the team more and get started after the summer.”
