Petter returns to Surbiton for 2022/23 season

Surbiton will welcome GB and England’s Izzy Petter back to the club for the 2022/23 season.

Petter was previously a youth player at the club from the age of 12, breaking into the first team while still Under-18, before she moved to Loughborough University.

She made her senior international debut in May 2019, scoring a crucial goal a few months later as GB qualified for Tokyo 2020. She went on to land a bronze medal from the Olympic Games last summer.

“I’m super excited to return to SHC after three seasons away,” Petter said. “I played indoor with some of the girls in January and loved it so I’m really looking forward to playing alongside some familiar faces next season, and hopefully winning another league title!”

Surbiton coach Brett Garrard is delighted to see her return to Sugden Road: “I always take great pride when young players continue to develop having grown up at SHC and return to us ready to take on the next challenge. I am so pleased to see Izzy returning to the club after her time away at university and an exciting start to her international career with an Olympic medal. She will add great value to the team as we look to take another step forward next season.”
