Den Bosch and SCHC will be the Netherlands’ female representatives in European competition next season after they won through to the championship final last weekend.
For SCHC, they eventually got through via a shoot-out to beat AH&BC Amsterdam – the EHL winners in April – in their best of three series on Sunday.
The sides had won a game each in the series to make it a winner-takes-all Sunday showdown and it was another classic.

Felice Albers gave Amsterdam the lead but Yibbi Jansen equalised for 1-1; Amsterdam went in front once more via an unfortunate defensive deflection and so it looked like they were on course for success until Ginella Zerbo levelled with five minutes to go.
That sent the game to a shoot-out for the second time in this series with SCHC eventually winning out 3-1 in a drama-packed phase.
It sent them through to their first final since 2015 with Heerbaart saying: “We have made such a special journey this season. We started in August. We are now almost ten months later.
“I think it’s fantastic what we have achieved together during that time. We have learned to walk through fire for each other. It was brilliant how we played these three play-off games. It almost gives me goosebumps. I think it’s really special. It almost feels like a fairytale to me.”
Den Bosch made it through in slightly more comfortable style as they won the second game against hdm 1-0 with Frédérique Matla scoring the winning goal in the final minute from the penalty spot.
The first game of three-match final series will begin on Thursday.
