EHF excludes the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials

Following yesterday’s recommendation by the IOC to avoid the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials in international competitions – in order to protect the integrity of global sports competitions and for the safety of all participants – the Executive Board (EB) of the EHF has decided to exclude the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials from all EHF events for the foreseeable future.

The EHF EB fully endorses and supports this decision by the IOC.

The EHF hope that a peaceful resolution will be found soon, and we continue to closely monitor the situation in cooperation with our Member National Associations and in line with their earlier statement offering full support to the Ukraine Hockey Federation.

The EHF will announce the impact of this decision on upcoming events in the coming days. This will include Easter’s #EHL draw with Russia’s Dinamo Ak-Bars and Belarus’s HC Minsk originally due to take part.
