Rot-Weiss Köln came from a goal down to beat perennial German rivals Uhlenhorst Mülheim 3-1 and hold a confident lead into the winter break in the men’s Bundesliga.
Jan Schiffer put Uhelnhorst 1-0 up in the 42nd minute but replies from Thies Ole Prinz, Mink van der Weerden and Ole Boelke turned things around.
It was Rot-Weiss’s 10th win from 11 outings so far this season and puts them 10 points clear of section A at the halfway point from Hamburger Polo Club – who have one game in hand.
Mannheimer HC have the second best record of any team at this stage and they head Section B with 25 points, one point above Harvestehuder THC and two clear of Uhlenhorst Mülheim.
For Mannheim, Gonzalo Peillat and Teo Hinrichs both scored twice in their 5-1 victory over Berliner HC while HTHC beat Club an der Alster 7-0 with a hat trick from Michael Körper.
