Maria Verschoor scored the only goal as AH&BC Amsterdam took the ABN AMRO Cup in Rotterdam with a 1-0 win over Klein Zwitserland in the final.
She netted in the seventh minute to hand Robert Tigges’ club the title having defeated SCHC earlier in the weekend in the semi-final.
They duly held firm with their slender lead with chances at a premium until the closing stages when KZ removed their goalkeeper and almost forced an equaliser from some late penalty corners.
For Tigges, it was a confidence-building first stanza to the season as they did without Olympians Felice Albers and Lauren Stam while they also adjust to life without Eva de Goede who switched to HGC this summer.
SCHC bounced back to beat Victoria 4-3 and earn third place; Den Bosch were fifth with goals from Noor Omrani, Frédérique Matla and Pien Sanders in a 3-0 win over Pinoké.
