Lyon miss chance to close gap to RCF

Lyon were unable to close
the gap to Racing Club de France as they fell to a surprise 5-3 loss to Le
Touquet, leaving them five points behind with a game extra played.
They did start well,
scoring the first three goals of the game in the first quarter with Guillaume
Pin continuing his scoring streak with an early hat trick.
But, from nowhere, Le
Touquet stormed back into contention. By half-time, they had already recovered
the gap and, playing on the counter-attack, they scored two more in the second
half with Olivier Cohen ending with three and Belgian midfielder Henri
Cavenaille scoring twice.
It means RCF are ever more
secure despite their match with Paris Jean Bouin being played on Wednesday
evening.
Lille won 2-1 at Montrouge.
Francois Xavier Laffineur scored an early corner and then added another for a
2-0 half-time lead. Montrouge attacked regularly, though, and were back in the
mix with a beuatiful finish from French forward Clement Baccar. It made for a
tense finish to the game but Lille held on for the win.
St Germain beat Wattignies
in the other game and strengthen their place in the top four of the division.
