Racing Club de France
ended a fine 2015 with a 3-0 win over CA Montrouge, marking their 15th league
win from 18 games in calendar year and leaves them top of the elite division in
It gives them a
seven-point gap over second placed Saint Germain with Lille sitting in third
and FC Lyon occupying fourth place overall, virtually assuring the side of a
top four place when they return to outdoor action.
The French league will
return to action on April 3 for the remaining rounds of the competition and
subsequent playoffs, meaning their next competitive outing is their KO16 battle
with SV Kampong.
It has been a tricky season so far for the Utrecht side,
ending the initial phase of the Hoofdklasse in seventh place after 13 games.
They have five wins from those ties with just one win in
their last six games – including losses to Voordaan, Bloemendaal and Hurley –
after a strong start to the campaign though they did end with a 2-1 win over
high-flying HGC.
They will hope they can get back to full fitness in the New
Year, particularly FIH Goalkeeper of the Year nominee David Harte.
Their outdoor season gets back on track on February 28 with
a huge match against Amsterdam and they will play five rounds of league matches
before facing Racing Club de France.
