Club biography

Three Rock Rovers return to the Euro Hockey League after a nine-year absence for their second time in the competition. They won the EYHL Champions Trophy to land the Irish top seed, beating Monkstown in their national final after they had finished their regular season in second place, only missing out on that title on goal difference after a thrilling final day of the season.

The side is very young but full of rising talent and is coached by the club's youth director Niall Denham with 14 of the panel coming through the ranks. 17-year-old Ben Walker made his Irish debut early in 2017 with Daragh Walsh and Luke Madeley following his lead in the summer while goalkeeper Jamie Carr - still 20 - was part of the Irish World League Semi-Final panel. Olympian Mitch Darling is the most famous face and played with Three Rock in the 2008/09 season before playing for KHC Leuven, Den Bosch, SCHC and Rotterdam. South African born Jody Hosking is the other key man in midfield.
