Club biography

Royal Leopold are making their third appearance in the Euro Hockey League after two previous runs to the KO16 stage of the competition. Last year, after an impressive group stage with wins over Dinamo Elektrostal and SG Amsicora, scoring 15 goals, they pushed Oranje Zwart all the way before a last ditch Rob van der Horst wonder goal ended their charge.

Glenn Turner is a massive new addition, the Australian one of the best strikers in the world game with a strong, physical approach. Alexis Lemaire comes in from Pingouin while Lewis Eaton joins the club from Wellington.

They link up with key players like Dorian Thiery, goalkeeper Romain Henet and Dimitri Cuvelier. On the debit side, Argentina’s Olympic gold medalist Agustin Mazzilli is a big departure while sharp-shooter Gabriel Dabanch has moved to Australia. The experienced Martin de Bruyne has retired. They meet Banbridge and Saint Germain in Round 1 in Ireland.
