Club biography

The inaugural winners of the EYHL – Ireland’s new full season national league – were dominant throughout the last campaign with 17 wins from 18 in their regular season followed by playoff wins over Pembroke and Banbridge.

It is a side with a good smattering of international talent including Olympic defenders Jonny Bell and Paul Gleghorne while striker Timmy Cockram was on the Irish reserve list. Sean Murray and Matthew Nelson are rising stars but they will miss the sharp-shooting of Mikey Watt who moved to Hampstead and Westminster in London.

They have brought in Irish underage international Peter McKibbin from nearby Annadale for this season while Daniel Buser, James Lorimer and Neal Glassey keep things ticking.

This will be Garvey’s second EHL appearance. They reached the KO16 in 2013 following a lively 3-3 draw with Lille in Round 1 and a loss to Bloemendaal was enough to see them advance to the knock-out stages, eventually losing to Dragons 7-2.

Garvey meet Atlètic Terrassa in the KO16.
